Hakone is located in Kanagawa prefecture and is a popular tourist resort because of its health resorts, parks and mountains. Some of the most well known attractions are the active Great Boiling Valley and Hakone shrine. Probably the best time to go is in April when the cherry blossoms come out.
Access: Hakone Yumoto station - 70 minutes from Shinjuku. You should buy the Hakone Free Pass which allows you unlimited use of transport for a few days.

Ochanomizu is famous for its music stores for just about any instrument you can think of. Both sides of the street are lined with instrument shops - from guitar stores, wind instruments and specialist stringed instrument stores to audio equipment.
