Photos of Kamikochi, April 2008

One of the most spectacular places in Japan to visit, Kamikochi is surrounded by impressive mountain ranges and is full of animal and plant species. The area is thought to have been a sea bed about 300 million years ago.

Kamikochi is open from April 23 through to December 15.  If you want to climb outside the warmer month - from July and October - you need to apply for permission to do so because of the snowy conditions.
